From the Siem Reap Guesthouse, Cambodia
"Wow, Siem Reap is a beautiful place and i have thoroughly enjoyed it. The temples around Siem Reap are absolutely incredible:)
We went to see Phnom Bakheng at sunset which was ok but if I'm honest secretly hoped that angkor wat would be better as it wasn't great.
The following day we went to see Angkor Wat at sunrise (530am) it was awesome.... The palace looked beautiful in the morning rays -it was quite a special moment just to be there and part of their history. Next we went to Bayon temple which is (the temple of faces) and that was stunning, just amazing - they built faces in the towers of the temple. We saw the elephant terrace and the gates of angkor Thom. Next was Thommanom which was ok.
Then Ta Prohm which is where Tomb raider was filmed. Trees are actually growing through the temple remains - it looks brilliant! Then we went about 14km to a temple called Banteay Srey which was carved purely by women. that was very pretty. All in all, pretty templed out but had a great experience and have loved every second of Cambodia although Siem Reap is expensive but worth it!! We decided not to do the balloon ride as it was expensive and only 15 mins - well save our money and do something really special.
Love lots

"I stayed here for three nights and was very impressed by the clean and smart rooms, for $5.00 per night I had an attached shower and cable TV. There a few other guest houses around this area but this one stood out as it was painted white and was tidy, the interior was also very smart with heavy thick wood furniture and banisters. All in all very good and I would stay again. It was on the otherside of the river from the town centre." H.W.Culshaw, Farnborough, United Kingdom
